This resource is available to all staff working in the NSW public health system. To obtain a CIAP username and password,
- visit Health Support Services Intranet. Access this site from any NSW Health facility.
- contact your CIAP Representative or your local hospital library.

Greater Southern AHS now connects via IP validation
Greater Southern Area Health Service has now joined the growing list of IP validated sites on CIAP. This enables users to access CIAP without a username and password when working on a computer within the area health service network.
Please contact your local GSAHS health library or CIAP Representative if requiring a username and password to access CIAP from home.
Recent CIAP News
From January 1 2009 CINAHL will no longer be available via the OvidSP platform and will be replaced by CINAHL Plus with Full-Text on EbscoHOST 2.0. This means that when accessing CINAHL you will see changes while searching the database after the 1st January.
CIAP has provided a number of tutorials to help you on the User Guides and Tutorials page. Please take the time to complete the tutorials and familiarize yourself with the new search techniques. CINAHL Plus also includes more full text journals. You will find a database coverage list at www.ebscohost.com/titleLists/rw-coverage.htm

Attention all EBM study participants! A reminder to please continue using your individual assigned usernames and passwords when accessing CIAP until the end of your final term, as data is still being collected. The final self-assessment questionnaire has been circulated; please check your email and complete it as soon as possible.
The draw for one of four PDAs for those who complete the study will take place in January/February! Email Samantha Van Staalduinen, study coordinator, at svan@med.usyd.edu.au with any questions or concerns regarding the project.

The NSW Department of Health recognises the importance of appropriate Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis in the prevention of avoidable deaths, and has released medical and surgical VTE prevention guidelines in poster and booklet formats. Electronic versions are available from the NSW Department of Health website
